Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Školkohled project (available at skolkohled.cz) processes visitors' personal data and how it protects your privacy. We value your privacy and collect only the data necessary for the service to work.

1. Who is the data controller

Školkohled is a non-commercial project run by an individual (the “operator”). The operator acts as the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR. You can contact us at any time by e-mail at ahoj.skolkohled@gmail.com.

2. What data we process

• Location (geolocation). If you use the “Search near me” feature, your browser asks for consent and passes us geographic coordinates. We use them only to find facilities near you and to display the place name. We do not store the coordinates permanently.
• Saved facilities. Your list of saved facilities is stored solely locally in your browser (localStorage). It is not sent to our servers and we have no access to it.
• Anonymous analytics. We use Umami to measure traffic; it works without cookies and collects no personal data, nor does it store your IP address in an identifiable form.
• Operational records (logs). Our servers and hosting provider may temporarily record technical data (e.g. IP address and browser type) to ensure operation and security.
• Account and reviews. If we ever enable sign-in and review submission, we will process your e-mail address and the content of reviews you voluntarily add. These features may not currently be active.

3. Why we process data and on what basis

• Consent – for geolocation (you grant consent via the browser prompt and can withdraw it at any time in your browser settings).
• Legitimate interest – ensuring operation, security, and improvement of the service (anonymous analytics, operational logs).
• Performance of the service – if you create an account or add a review, processing is necessary to provide that feature.

4. Cookies

Školkohled does not use tracking (marketing) cookies. To store your saved facilities we use localStorage, which is necessary for that feature and stays only on your device. For this reason we do not show a cookie banner.

5. Who we share data with (processors)

To run the service we use the following providers, which may process data on our behalf:

• Supabase – database (storage of facility data and reviews) and (if the feature is active) sign-in and account management.
• Mapy.com (Seznam.cz) – map data and converting coordinates to a place name.
• OpenStreetMap – map tiles.
• Umami – anonymous traffic analytics.
• Hosting provider – operation of the web application.

Some providers may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area. In such cases the transfer is secured by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. We never sell data to third parties.

6. How long we keep data

We keep data only for as long as strictly necessary: location coordinates are not stored, operational logs are kept short-term, and data associated with an account or reviews until you request its deletion or close your account.

7. Your rights

In connection with the protection of personal data, you have the right:

• to access your data and obtain a copy of it,
• to have inaccurate data corrected,
• to erasure (the “right to be forgotten”),
• to restriction of processing and to object,
• to data portability,
• to withdraw consent previously granted.

To exercise your rights, contact us at ahoj.skolkohled@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, which is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page together with the effective date.
